LYLY - Technology companies Meta and WIR Group participated in the G20 Summit through the Metaverse Corner exhibition at the Digital Transformation Expo exhibition.
"This is a collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Informatics with Meta and the WIR Group to build the Metaverse Corner. So that is our participation in the G20," said Meta Public Policy Director for Southeast Asia Rahimah Abdulrahim, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Badung, Bali, Sunday (13/11).
Rahimah said Metaverse Corner was here as a form of support for digital transformation in Indonesia. At the Metaverse Corner, he said, visitors can see and experience first-hand the experience of interacting in the metaverse space.
There are a number of interactions that can be made. Among them are learning the history of the Borobudur Temple, wearing traditional clothes, playing traditional musical instruments, and trying out virtual make-up and mixing and matching clothes.
All of these interactions are carried out in the metaverse space by utilizing holographic technology using the Augmented Reality (AR) effect.
"This can use a cellphone , can use the QR code to scan an angklung, can introduce Borobudur Temple with AR filters, everyone can explore, learn how the Borobudur Temple is, how to play angklung, wear traditional clothes to introduce Indonesian culture which is very rich and that can be metaverse," said Rahimah.
WIR Group International Business & Government Relations Director Yasha Chatab said the presence of the Metaverse Corner was an educational tool to lead to the world of metaverse in the future.
"This is a joint achievement between the regulator and the industry," he said.
Metaverse Corner is one of the areas featured in the Digital Transformation Expo event. The Digital Transformation Expo itself is a side event at the G20 Bali Summit.
